Keaton’s Story: A Warrior with the Soul of a Believer

Keaton Charles Miller was born on November 23, 2007, in Flint, Michigan, and later called Lee’s Summit, Missouri, home. He was a junior at Lee’s Summit West High School—known not just as an outstanding wrestler, but as a young man filled with remarkable faith, strength, kindness, and heart.

In April 2024, Keaton was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. What followed was a 13-month journey marked by unimaginable challenges, miraculous moments, and unwavering faith. Even when cancer had infiltrated 93% of his blood and central nervous system, Keaton went on to earn Kansas City 2nd Team All-Conference honors in wrestling—a testament to his unbreakable will.

Towards the end of his treatment, Keaton was placed on life support. Miraculously, just five days later, he came off life support needing no oxygen at all. It was more than a medical victory—it was a divine moment that strengthened our faith and became a living testimony to the power of prayer.

Through it all, Keaton continued to uplift those around him—with humor, warmth, and a light that made everyone feel seen. Even during treatments, he asked thoughtful questions, included others, and lived with hope. He achieved remission, but a transplant complication ultimately cut his journey short. Still, Keaton’s life and legacy speak louder than leukemia ever could.

A Community United: From Prayer to Movement

As Keaton fought, our family and community came together in faith. What began as a simple “Warrior ~ Team Keaton” shirt quickly became a symbol of unity, strength, and unshakable belief. When two or more gathered in prayer—clothed in faith and standing for Keaton—we witnessed real miracles.

His shirt wasn’t just merchandise. It became a movement—one that brought people together across schools, churches, wrestling mats, and hospital halls.

The outpouring of support wasn’t just physical—it was deeply spiritual. From hospital visits and prayer vigils to school events and baptisms, Keaton’s faith journey became a shared experience. He wasn’t known for being a cancer patient. He was known for being a light. A leader. A believer. A warrior.

Carrying the Torch: Why We Founded This

We are the Miller family—David and Liz, along with Keaton’s sisters, Kaylie, Kirah (Baylor), and Kyan. We were honored to walk beside Keaton in every step of his fight. And while his passing broke our hearts, it also revealed a greater purpose.

We founded the Keaton Miller Scholarship Fund to carry that purpose forward. Keaton had a deep calling toward ministry and teaching. Through this fund, we offer scholarships to students pursuing higher education in ministry, theology, or related fields—ensuring that his passion to serve and share Christ continues to grow through others.

This scholarship fund is our way of standing back up—with faith in hand. It’s about turning heartbreak into hope, and pain into purpose. We believe in the power of community, the strength of prayer, and the incredible legacy of a boy who changed the world in just 17 years.

Thank You

Thank you for joining us in creating something beautiful from heartbreak—a legacy rooted in faith, hope, and love.
